1. Purpose of the Health Guarantee
This Health Guarantee is designed to protect both the buyer and the breeder by clearly outlining the health expectations for our Irish Wolfhound puppies. It ensures that our puppies are free from genetic and congenital disorders to the best of our knowledge and provides a framework for addressing any health concerns that may arise.
2. Health Screening and Veterinary Care
Before your Irish Wolfhound puppy leaves our care, they undergo the following health screenings and veterinary care:
- Veterinary Examination: Each puppy is examined by a licensed veterinarian to ensure they are in good health.
- Vaccinations: Puppies receive their first round of vaccinations, including distemper, parvovirus, and adenovirus.
- Deworming: Puppies are dewormed to eliminate any intestinal parasites.

We guarantee that your Irish Wolfhound puppy is free from life-threatening genetic and congenital disorders for a period of 24 months from the date of birth. If a genetic or congenital disorder is diagnosed by a licensed veterinarian within this period, we will provide the following options:
- Replacement Puppy: We will offer a replacement puppy of equal value from the next available litter.
- Refund: We will refund the purchase price of the puppy (excluding shipping and transportation costs).
To qualify for this guarantee, the buyer must provide written documentation from a licensed veterinarian confirming the diagnosis. The breeder reserves the right to seek a second opinion from a veterinarian of their choice.
B. Infectious Diseases
We guarantee that your puppy is free from infectious diseases at the time of purchase. If your puppy is diagnosed with an infectious disease (e.g., parvovirus, distemper) within 14 days of purchase, we will cover the cost of veterinary treatment up to the purchase price of the puppy.
4. Buyer Responsibilities
To maintain the validity of this Health Guarantee, the buyer agrees to the following:
A. Veterinary Care
- The buyer must take the puppy to a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of purchase for a health examination. Failure to do so will void this Health Guarantee.
- The buyer must follow the recommended vaccination and deworming schedule provided by the breeder and their veterinarian.
B. Proper Nutrition and Care
- The buyer must provide the puppy with a high-quality, large-breed puppy food to support healthy growth and development.
- The buyer must avoid overfeeding or excessive calcium, as this can lead to skeletal issues.
C. Exercise and Environment
- The buyer must provide the puppy with a safe and secure environment. Irish Wolfhounds are indoor dogs and should not be left outside unsupervised.
- The buyer must avoid strenuous exercise, such as jumping or running on hard surfaces, during the puppy’s rapid growth phase to prevent joint and bone issues.
D. Communication with the Breeder
- The buyer must notify the breeder immediately if any health concerns arise.
- The buyer must provide the breeder with updates on the puppy’s health and well-being as requested.
5. Exclusions from the Health Guarantee
This Health Guarantee does not cover the following:
- Minor Health Issues: Conditions such as allergies, ear infections, or skin irritations are not covered.
- Injuries or Accidents: Any injuries or illnesses resulting from accidents, neglect, or improper care are not covered.
- Pre-existing Conditions: Conditions that were present but not disclosed at the time of purchase are not covered.
- Non-Genetic Conditions: Conditions caused by environmental factors, such as parasites or infections acquired after purchase, are not covered.
6. Spay/Neuter Agreement
To promote responsible breeding practices, we require all puppies sold as pets to be spayed or neutered by 12 months of age. Failure to comply with this requirement will void the Health Guarantee.
7. Lifetime Support
At Irish Wolfhound Breeders, we believe in building lifelong relationships with our puppy families. We offer lifetime support and are always available to answer questions or provide guidance on caring for your Irish Wolfhound.
8. Limitation of Liability
While we take every precaution to ensure the health and well-being of our puppies, we cannot guarantee against all possible health issues. Our liability is limited to the purchase price of the puppy or a replacement puppy, as outlined in this Health Guarantee.
9. Transfer of Ownership
This Health Guarantee is non-transferable and applies only to the original buyer. If the puppy is rehomed or sold to another party, the Health Guarantee is void.
10. Governing Law
This Health Guarantee is governed by the laws of the state in which the breeder resides. Any disputes arising from this agreement will be resolved through mediation or arbitration.
11. Acknowledgment and Agreement
